Title: Statistical Distribution of Defects and their Impact on Garment Quality
Abstract:
The textile and clothing industry in
Egypt has always been of strategic importance to the economy. It is one of the
largest manufacturing and exporting processes in the country and huge
employment absorber. In the garment industry quality control is practiced right
from the initial stage of sourcing raw materials to the stage of final finished
garment. For textile and apparel industry product quality is calculated in
terms of quality and standard of fibers, yams, fabric construction,
colour-fastness, surface designs and the final finished garment products.
Therefore, in this research work the fabric and garment defects were studied
during manufacturing and their statistical distribution to suggest a better
system to reduce the defects of the fabric during manufacturing and also
increase the quality of the products.
